Under The Dome R ES I DE N T & I N T E R N AT ION A L HO U S E N E W S I-House TV is a new program with the goal of producing resident-driven digital content, emphasizing research, education and special initiatives that complement the educational and living experiences of our residents. is spring I-House TV premiered a student- produced original video series, Global Voices, which features 3-minute documentaries of residents who touch on a variety of subjects. e rst episode featured resident Ollie Rutherford (pictured above) from England, spotlighting his love for building community and his journey to UC Berkeley. e next episode, starring resident Avantika Sood from India, was met with massive enthusiasm at the India-themed "Chai" Hour in the Great Hall. e third episode, launched at the April 26 th Sunday Supper, featured resident Paige Rothschild from California training for a half marathon. Student Executive Producer Skylar Economy says, "Being a part of I-House TV and helping to produce Global Voices has allowed me to learn and share with others the personal lives of the diverse mix of people who live in I-House." Stay tuned for more I-House TV oerings on youtube.com/ihouseberkeley and facebook. com/InternationalHouseTV. n 4 International House Times Sunday Supper, one of the longest continuing International House traditions, is a wonderful celebration of multicultural community and fellowship. e February 8 th Sunday Supper featured Sidee Dlamini, one of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars currently living at I-House. She expressed gratitude in her speech, Accomplishments and Aspirations: "...My gratitude goes to the donors, directors, sta, instructors and most importantly, my fellow residents. None of this would matter if there were no residents to do it all for." Read Sidee's speech and see photos on our blog at: ihberkeley.wordpress.com/2015/02/11 Coee Hour is another long-standing favorite that occurs on Wednesday evenings as residents gather in the Great Hall for coee and treats from around the world. Student organizers share songs, dances, sweets and traditions of their home countries with their house-mates. As resident Jee Hyun Choi says, "At Coee Hour every week, I arrive exhausted from my classes but am welcomed by a sea of people dancing to Bollywood tunes and KPop videos. How can I not feel happier at the end of the day?" e excitement of Coee Hour captured the attention of the Daily Cal, which lmed six episodes for their new YouTube series International Students at Cal. See videos on our channel at youtube.com/ihouseberkeley. n Thought-Provoking Lectures International House has a long-standing history of hosting lectures co-sponsored by UC Berkeley colleges, schools and departments. This spring we welcomed Laura Tyson, Director, Institute for Business & Social Impact, Haas School of Business; Kathleen Sebelius, former Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services; and Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States.
