Under The Dome resident & international house news Transcending Boundaries I-House students are enriched every day by the activities and ideas that are central to our community. Here are a few recent examples: Residents Fly High Meet Our Scholars August 2013 brought another "full house" of diverse International House residents—583 in all from 61 countries. 45% of residents are female and 28% are American citizens. In total, 52% are pursuing graduate studies and/or research endeavors and 48% are undergraduates. Visiting scholars and post-docs account for 10% of our population. Students took turns entering a wind tunnel that, like the occasionally mind-altering dialogues that happen at I-House, reported one participant "took their breath away!" "They had a blast....literally." said IH Asst. Director of Programs Mike Roessler. International Business Nearly 100 UC Berkeley students participated in the Haas International Business Conference at I-House in September, where displays and presentations highlighted a range of innovative business solutions to global challenges. A few deepened their experience by arriving in international cultural attire, adding both brains and beauty to the popular event.
