16 International House Times 17. Although Robyn McAlpine's (IH 2019-20) time at I-House was truncated by the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the time she spent here left a deep impression on her. "I took every cultural training I could while I was at I-House. I think it's so important." She remains keenly invested in the mission of I-House and in the work of the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership and Programs. On a recent visit, she met with the RCILP team, including current I-House resident and Program Lead, Alizé Jean (IH 2022-24). 18. While on a Visiting Miller Research Professorship through the Miller Institute for Basic Research in Science, Alan Robock (IH 1973) stopped by I-House, where he lived while a graduate student working at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory more than 50 years ago. 19. Kaushik Das (IH 1993-96) showed his daughter Nuriya around I-House, including a visit to the laundry room. Some of Kaushik's fondest memories are hanging out with I-House friends while waiting for the clothes to dry. Kaushik's wife Cristina Martin (IH 1996-98) and her brother David Martin (IH 1998) also lived at I-House; another I-House family! 20. Gregory Morgan (IH 1992) and his family were all smiles as he introduced them to I-House, where he once served as a member of the Resident Council. 21. Lynn T. White (IH 1964-65) and his wife, Barbara- Sue, spent a night in the I-House Ambassador Suite. With big smiles, they read Lynn's application to I-House from the 1960s. ey look forward to continuing to visit I-House, attending themed dinners, and getting to know new residents. Gina (Saldanha) Ramanathan (IH 1989-90) and Sridhar Ramanathan (IH 1982-83) met outside of I-House but both remain connected to its mission and many friends from their I-House years. As a former student worker in the Sarin Program Office, Gina was particularly happy to see that I-House traditions, including Sunday Supper, are still a part of the I-House experience today. I-House All Years Alumni Reunion We were pleased to welcome more than 160 alumni, families, and friends back to I-House on August 6th for the I-House All Years Alumni Reunion. It was clear that, although many alumni spent a brief time of their lives living at I-House, the impact was long-lasting. See photos of the event at ihberkeleyconnect.org.
