International House Times 11 10 International House Times Transitions TRUSTEES CITATION AWARD Longtime Board Member Jamy Faulhaber was celebrated at the UC Berkeley Foundation Awards Dinner on May 14, 2015 as a recipient of their prestigious Trustees Citation. Given to alumni and friends who are shining examples of service in support of the University's goals, Jamy was nominated for her dedication to many projects at I-House and for her extraordinary philanthropic service across the SF Bay Area and California. Jamy leaves the Board this year after many years of dedicated and invaluable leadership and support. Welcome Board Members Fiona M. Doyle was appointed to the Board by I-House Chair, Nicolas Dirks, UC Berkeley Chancellor, where she will serve on the Financial Aid Committee. Professor Doyle became Dean of the Graduate Division at UC Berkeley in January 2015, previously serving in a variety of faculty and senior administrative capacities. Judith Dunbar is senior advisor for Global Social Performance at Chevron Headquarters in San Ramon. Previously she spent 10 years with USAID's Oce of Con•ict Management and Mitigation, working in Bangkok, ailand and Washington, D.C. She earned a B.A. in Russian Studies from the College of William and Mary and an M.A.L.D. in Development Economics and International Con•ict Resolution from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Having previously served in several leadership roles, Martha Sam Hertelendy departed from the Board in the fall of 2014. She was recognized as the I-House 2006 Global Citizen of the Year and served as Vice Chair for the House's 75th anniversary Campaign. Joyce Hicks most recently served as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Executive Committee. She previously served as the Chair of the Nominations Committee. Joyce is the Executive Director of the Oce of Citizen Complaints of the San Francisco Police Commission. She obtained her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law. She is formerly Chairperson of the Lawrence Hall of Science Advisory Council, and a former board member of the Cal Alumni Association and a former trustee of the UC Berkeley Foundation. Kit Choy Loke, an I-House alumna, earned her J.D. and L.L.M. from the Boalt Hall School of Law, and holds a L.L.B. from National University of Singapore. Formerly a partner at Winston & Strawn LLP, she specialized in real estate, corporate, commercial and nance law and has practiced in the US, Hong Kong and Tokyo. She previously served on the Board from 2005 – 2014. Ronald Silva is the Founding Principal, President, and CEO of Fillmore Capital Partners, a private investment rm in San Francisco. Previously he was Executive Vice President of Lowe Enterprises and a Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank. He earned his B.S. from UC Berkeley, his J.D. from John F. Kennedy University Law School, and is a member of UC Berkeley College of Chemistry Advisory Board. Amy Slater, a lecturer at the Goldman School of Public Policy, left the Board on March 30 after eight years of dedicated service. She served most recently as Chair of the Development Committee and led multiple successful fundraising eorts. Jay Paxton most recently served on the Executive, Finance and Nominations Committees. He received his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, and is the Managing Director at Buchalter Nemer Law Corporation. He has served on the board almost continuously since 1974 and is currently appointed as the I-House trustee on the UC Berkeley Foundation.
