Global Gatherings
Over thirty I-House alumni who lived at I-House from 1976-79 and their loved ones returned in March to celebrate their
long-standing friendships and rekindle old memories. e group enjoyed having brunch in the Dining Commons and visiting
their old stomping grounds.
I-House hosted its annual Persian New Year eme Dinner in the Dining Commons on March 20, 2019. e alumni who
returned to celebrate with us are: Ruth White (IH 1973-74) and Robert White; former Programs Assistant Reika Saito
(IH 2007-08) with her daughter; and Linda Sarkis (IH 1970-73) with her friend.
While visiting Singapore in July, Board Member Eugene Yano and his wife Professor Candace Yano had the pleasure of meeting
I-House alumni Lim Kok Ching (IH 2006-07), Chian Choo (IH 2001-02), and Ken Yeo (IH 1986) at a Haas reunion
event at Vatos Urban Tacos.
I-House New York hosted a Bay Area Alumni Reception in the Home Room on Saturday, September 7th. Karin Johnson
(IH 1946-52), Ann Shin (IH 1988-89) Roshan Gujar (IH 2003), Jasneet Hora (IH 2014), and Jian-Chu Chen (IH 1969)
were among the 25 guests. All five lived at both I-Houses during their collegiate careers. Current I-House Berkeley resident
Eric Planz played the electronic keyboard for the gathering. A special day was had by all.
