International House Harrisburg
International House is a quaint
student residence located
in the heart of the capital of
Pennsylvania. IHouse residents
are students attending area
universities and colleges,
interns, scholars, trainees
and international students
participating in the Summer
Work/Travel program. Since
it opened in 2002, IHouse
has been home to students
from 95 countries. Its homelike atmosphere promotes
international understanding
and provides vast opportunities
to explore and experience life
in the U.S. and make friends
from around the globe.
IHouse offers 24 hours a day
support and many educational,
cultural and social programs.
Some programs and events are
designed for the residents only
such as monthly dinners and life
skills sessions. Other programs
are designed for the students
and the community and are
generally planned in collaboration
with academic institutions,
businesses and the community.
These include ���Discover the
World���, a series about world
cultures; world dance and music;
English as a second language
classes and other programs.
IHouse offers short-term and
long-term accommodations in
single, double and multi-bed
units that are fully furnished and
each containing a kitchenette
and a bathroom. Each of its
buildings offers full kitchens
and lounges for students���
use and community events.
