Every year, volunteers, alumni, staff, and friends sign up for our Host Family Program to occasionally host an I-House resident for a dinner, a mini trip, an evening of conversation, or a holiday event. The goal is to ease the international student’s transition to their surroundings and to help them understand the local community and way of life. Hosts offer so much more that can be shared: cultural revelations, new perspectives on life, surprises, fun, and friendship. The commitment is minimal, but the rewards are great!

New for 2018: Participating residents are added to an interactive map by country (example below) with details about what they’re studying, their interests, and what they’re looking forward to this year. Host families are then able to choose residents to meet with from their location on the map.
