Love for California. The fires have affected many in our community. Our Director of Admissions, Ryan Jones, is leading a relief effort this week. He writes, "Over the last month, we've all witnessed with great distress the devastation in the US and around the world from earthquakes and hurricanes. We are now dealing directly with the fires that have ravaged our friends, families, and neighbors in Napa and Sonoma counties. In times like this, we all feel a sense of helplessness and a desire to do something to help. I will be driving up to the Sonoma area on Tuesday and Friday of next week and plan to drop off some much-needed supplies to one of the shelters that is serving evacuees. If anyone would like to contribute, I am happy to transport additional items. Support services are specifically seeking the following: - Non-perishable food - Baby food, diapers, and formula - Pet food and supplies - New, in package, socks and underwear - Toiletries, feminine hygiene products, sanitary wipes, etc. - Phone chargers - First aid supplies - Children's books, crayons, coloring books, and small toys Given the limited space in my car, I can't transport bulkier items such as clothing, blankets, and other gear. We will be accepting donations in the Admissions office throughout the week, if anyone wants to add to the effort." #norcalfires
