Dear I-House Friends,
As 2016 draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to share with you just a few milestones that made this a wonderful year at International House.
- 155 students (26% of our resident body) received enormously beneficial room and board financial aid support to make their residencies here possible.
- We reached the full $1 million Schmidt Matching Challenge to support our newly renovated Dining Commons. This grant by Eric and Wendy Schmidt matched gifts to I-House dollar-for-dollar through June 30, 2016.
- Intercultural leadership training from the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership (CIL) enabled over 400 I-House residents, 200 UC Berkeley students and staff, and 100 students from universities outside the US to enhance their intercultural awareness capabilities.
We could not do what we do without the support of friends and alumni like you. If you have already made a gift in 2016, we sincerely thank you. If you still would like to make your 2016 gift, it’s not too late!
There are three days left to make a tax-deductible contribution in 2016.
I am continually inspired every day by the stories I hear both under the dome and from those who have been touched by their I-House experiences. I welcome the opportunity to hear about your experiences. Please contact me at (510) 643-6916 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we approach 2017, I wish you and yours a joyous holiday season. May it be full of those things we treasure most here under the dome: peace, understanding, and friendship.
